Desert Storm cards, tagged “Infowars.com”: Scud (front), Patriot Missile (back):

Someone keeps putting up these old Desert Storm cards (“© 2001 The Topps Company”) on the bulletin board in the lobby of the building I work in.

One of the cards (“Desert Storm #51”) is for the Scud Missle, while the other (“Desert Storm #77”) is for the Patriot Missile Command Center.

Weirdly, I think I remember having these cards, or at least other ones from the same series, when I was a freshman in high school, the Gulf War was underway, and all things “baseball card” related were popular collectors items.

Anyway, someone has scrawled on the back of each card “http://www.infowars.com/, which seems to be the web site of Alex Jones, paleoconservative radio talk show host.

Fascinating. I don’t think I’d ever heard the term “paleoconservative” before this.

You can learn a lot while you’re waiting for the elevator, eh?
